Voll's Blitz Seals It for Australia as West Indies Left Chasing Shadows

Georgia Voll turned on the afterburners in the powerplay and never looked back, smashing 101 off 53 balls to propel Australia Women to 211 for 7. The opener took guard against a West Indies attack that simply couldn't find answers to her aggression. She muscled boundaries through the off side, heaved over mid-wicket, and turned the middle overs into a one-woman demolition job. Sophie Molineux's late flourish of 25 off 12 added gloss, but this was Voll's evening.

West Indies never recovered from the onslaught. Hayley Matthews picked up three for 29, fighting hard with the ball, but the damage was done in the first six overs. Australia's batting depth meant even when Matthews struck with the new ball, the runs kept flowing. By the time the innings closed, the home side faced an mountain they couldn't climb.

The chase told its own story. West Indies crawled to 61 for 3 in ten overs — Matthews made 30, Brathwaite 18 — but the required rate and the mounting pressure made resistance futile. Australia's bowlers executed their lengths without breaking sweat. Matthews 3 for 29 was a consolation in a one-sided contest where Australia simply had too much firepower, too much intent, too early.
