Ghana brush aside Saint Helena to reach next round

Ghana made short work of Saint Helena in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa Sub Regional Qualifier B, needing just 6.4 overs to chase down a modest 78-run target. The margin—9 wickets—told the full story of a mismatch on the field.

Saint Helena's batting collapse came early. Batting first, they limped to 77 all out in twenty overs, with Jamie Essex (13 off 20) and Jordi Henry (12 off 19) showing some resistance but lacking the firepower to build momentum. Ghana's bowlers, led by Aiden Leo's tight spell of 1/9, strangled the innings from the powerplay. Saint Helena never found rhythm, their middle order crumbling under pressure. The target was begging to be chased down.

Ghana's reply was brutally efficient. Jayant Gautam took guard and seized control immediately, striking 44 off just 22 balls with aggressive intent. Richmond Baaleri played the perfect foil, adding 21 off 14 without needless risk. By the time Obed Harvey claimed 2/12, the chase was already done. Ghana's opening pair added 65 before Ghana crossed the line with three overs unused.

The match lacked the tension that defines knockout cricket, but Ghana showed why they belong in the next stage—clinical execution when it mattered.
